We have been hard at work planning some fun activities for the whole family. Check out what's coming up at The Duck.
 
Still looking for something to do for Father's Day? Why not take dad camping? This weekend we have free fishing and Alice in Wonderland on the outdoor movie screen. Sites are still available.
 
End of School Party

It's time to celebrate the end of school and the start of summer vacation. We will have various activities throughout the weekend  such as water balloon toss, three legged race, egg scramble and tug of war. The evening will finish off with a book burning, community bonfire.
 
There are still some sites left for this weekend. Book now to avoid disappointment.
July Long
 This year July Long stretches out over 4 days of fun. July 1 we will have Canada Day birthday cake and of course fireworks. Saturday we will set up the inflatable bouncer and have movie night at dark. Bring your flag and show your Canada spirit.
 
Easter in July

The Easter Bunny will be making a rare summer appearance at Rubber Ducky. The weekend includes crafts, an easter egg hunt and more.
 
There are still some sites available for this weekend.
DuckyFest
July 17
This will be our 5th annual fundraiser for the Children's Wish Foundation. There will be a weekend full of activities for the whole family including carnival games, kiddie train, inflatable bounceroo, and karaoke by Matchmaker music. Our band this year will be Sonny and the Hurricanes and they will be playing on Saturday evening from 7pm-midnight. Get your throwing arms warmed up since we will have the dunk tank back again this year. We will be coming around looking for volunteers to sit in the tank as well. If you don't cooperate you might just get put in the RDR Jail that we will be setting up just for this event.
Special Event day passes are available with a $5 per vehicle donation to the Children's Wish.
 
We are still looking for donations for our silent auction. If you can help out in anyway please let us know. We can arrange pickup if needed. A copy of the donation request letter can be printed from

Yes it's true - only April 29 and our pool and hot tub are open. It may not seem like swimming weather outside this weekend, but the pool is ready and waiting for the splashing to begin. Our pool is efficiently heated by geothermal heat pumps which allows us to maintain an average temperature of 80F. Even on the cool spring days it is nice and warm in the water.

Rubber Ducky Resort is once again able to offer swimming lessons in our heated pool.  There are currently 3 sessions scheduled and a 4th will be added if there is sufficient demand. We will be accepting registration for children from age 4 up to swim kids level 5.

March is certainly coming in like a lamb in Manitoba this year. With this nice weather our thoughts are turning to the upcoming camping season. We are busy planning some new activities to add to our old favorites.
 
We are looking forward to another fabulous camping season at the Duck and we hope you will be able to join us for some family fun in the sun.

Camping season starts April 30 this year. Some sites may be open sooner depending on the weather.

Events and Activities

We are busy planning the schedule for 2010. Many events are already listed on our Events Page and more details will be added throughout the next few months so be sure to check back often.
Saturday March 13 is Poker Night at the The Duck. Everyone from beginners to high rollers are welcome to come out. Games usually start around 7pm.

Join us this weekend for a one of a kind derby. This is traditionally the time of year when the snowmobiles have all the fun of the poker derbies, but this weekend we will be making the road trip easy for everyone to enjoy. All you need is a vehicle and the ability to read directions. If you are into the high tech stuff you can bring your gps and take the geocache option. Not sure if you want to geocache the whole route, don't worry we can give you a cheat sheet in case you run into trouble.

Derby registration will be from 9am until noon. Hands are $10 each or 3/$20. You can also choose a 'quickpick' hand and draw all your cards at Rubber Ducky.
 
Come on out and spend the evening catching up with all your camping friends from the summertime.  The RDR Social Committee will be hosting a social evening from 4pm until 1am. The proceeds from the social will be used to bring some new activities and events to the Duck this summer.

Looking for a place to go ice fishing, but don't want to drive for hours and head out into the middle of the lake? Come out and drop a line in our stocked trout pond. The warmth of the rec building is only a short walk away.

Poker Night
Saturday January 9th will be our monthly Texas holdem night at the Duck. The games will start at 7pm and go all night. Stop by anytime and be ready to catch the next game. Everyone is welcome from beginners up to high rollers. 
Poker Derby & Social Evening

Poker Derby - We have added a twist to our annual poker derby this year with the option of a geocache route. Grab your gps unit and head out on a high tech scavenger hunt. We will of  course also have regular maps available for non geocachers. There will be routes for both vehicles and snowmobiles. Registration is from 9am until noon. Hands are $10 each or 3/$20.
 
Social Evening - We have recently formed the RDR Social Committee who are in the process of planning some new activities for 2010. They will be hosting a fundraising social from 4pm until 12am. Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Campground or from some members of the social committee. Contact Rubber Ducky for more details. 
 
 
 
 
The fun doesn't stop during the winter. Our warmup area (rec building) is always open and the RDR Grill is open weekends.

South Interlake ATV Club
 
Recently the SIATV club submitted a proposal for the maintenance of the Interlake Pioneer Trail (formerly the Prime Meridian Trail). The proposal has been accepted by all involved parties. 
 
The Interlake Pioneer Trail is now a multi use trail that can be accessed 2 miles from Rubber Ducky and travels approx 70 miles North to the town of Fisher Branch.

Outdoor Movie Theatre 
 The Easter Bunny will be busy hiding Easter eggs all around the campground for the kids to find this weekend. We will also be doing an Easter craft for kids of all ages on Saturday. Pool Area Camping time is here 
The campground officially opened for another camping season on May 1, 2009. Now is the time to come and spend a relaxing weekend without the crowds of summertime. May 8 -10 is our 'Duck the Tax' weekend. You will receive a discount equal to the taxes on campsites, motel rooms and cabin. Saturday evening will be our first Ducky Fun Bingo of the season. Bingo is open for campers as well as drop ins.
 
Our tentative pool opening date is this Saturday May 9, 2009. Check our  website or call us at 204-322-5286 to check the status.
 
Waffles Hot Waffles are now available
Every weekend morning in the offseason and every morning in the summer season there will be hot waffles available at the RDR grill in our rec building.  Enjoy fresh waffles from our self serve waffle maker. The waffles are also complimentary with our motel room continental breakfast.
 
 New Menu and New Name
 The RDR Grill is now open with a new menu. We have kept the old favorites and have added a few new ones. You can download a copy on our amenities page. We are still adding items so be sure to check back again soon and watch for weekend specials.

Another camping season will soon be upon us and now is the time to start planning for a fun filled summer. This newsletter will update you on what's new and what's happening at Rubber Ducky Resort in 2009.

What's New!
 

-          The camping cabin is now open. This cabin is perfect for anyone that would like to camp, but does not own a camper. The cabin is conveniently located beside full services campsites and we can usually put your camping friends right beside you.
-          Renovated washrooms now with 3 showers in the men's and 3 showers in the women's.
-          Catch and release fishing is fully underway this year and will begin approx May 1. The rainbow trout average approximately 13-15" long with the 2008 record 17.25" long. Seasonal and weekend passes are available. Remember you do not have to be staying here to fish. Come out for the day to enjoy some fishing, maybe have a picnic.
-          Special value packages - We have bundled together some accommodation and entertainment options for an all inclusive package. Details can be found beneath the overnight camping rates on our rates page.
-          Newly painted rooms - one with Dolphin theme and one theme tba.
-          Online store - purchase gift certificates, apparel and ducky merchandise online with free shipping on some items.
-          Enter online to win a free weekend package.
-          We have our own Facebook group - Rubber Ducky Resort is the one for camping fun!
-          More trees. We have moved in some mature spruce and pine trees along Wood Duck Way.
-          Expanded Pool Area. We are increasing the seating area around the pool and hot tub.
-          Public pay phone is now located in the Rec building.
-          Expanded campstore with more supplies and a selection of RV parts and accessories (special orders for larger items such as awnings and items specific to your camper are also taken).
-          Fresh, homegrown potatoes will be available in season.
-          Bigger and better movie nights

 Poker DerbyFebruary 14, 2009
We will be holding our annual Poker Derby on Saturday February 14, 2009.
Breakfast will be from 9:00am until approx 11:00am. Derby registration is from 10:00am until approx 2:00pm with last hand in before 6:00pm. Hands are $10 each or 3/$20. We will also have a 50/50 draw and free door prizes.
It is not necessary to stop at all checkpoints, draw multiple cards here and then hit as many or as few checkpoints as you want. Don't have a snowmobile - draw all your cards here or drive to the checkpoints in your vehicle. There are many options to make a for a fun day.
Our concession will be open all day/evening and we will be serving up some chicken wings, burgers ,fries etc.

Gift Certificates - We have gift certificates available for a specific dollar amount (ex $10, $20 etc) or for specific items (mini golf, fishing license, specified number of nights in a campsite, room or cabin). Ducky Apparel - We have Rubber Ducky t-shirts, long sleeve shirts or hoodies for kids and adults available for purchase. These can also be purchased in person or electronically.

September & October  2008 


 Camping season doesn't end once the September long weekend is done. Rubber Ducky is open until October 15 and we still have events and activities going on throughout the late summer and fall. See our website for updates and more details.  Events
September long weekend 
Saturday evening will be a pig roast offering the roast pork, baked potato, coleslaw, baked beans, rolls and dessert. This is open to campers and drop ins with the cost for adults $13.00, kids 6-12 $6.00 and 5 & under free.
Sunday evening will be Ducky Bingo in the rec building. 
September 13
 
We will be having one last ice cream social for the season. Come on out and build your own sundae in the rec building. 
 Pool and Hot Tub
 
The pool will be open until September 14 and the hot tub will be open until campground closing.
 
We will be having movie nights and Bingo regularly throughout the fall season.  
 
 
September 6
This will be our second annual seasonal appreciation day. All seasonal campers are welcome to join us. Full details and times will be posted in the rec building or email for info. 
.
September 20
 
During the afternoon we will be having Bingo in the rec building. Then in the evening it is time to sit back and relax with Movie night. 
October 11
 
Thanksgiving potluck turkey dinner. Some of our seasonals organized this last year and I am stealing the idea and making it an official RDR activity this year. We will be supplying the turkey and everyone is asked to bring a dish to share.
