Trout Fishing and Trout Farm
You can fish all year round in our trout ponds that are stocked with 8000 rainbow trout. Throw your line out from the shore in the spring, summer or fall then drop it in the hole for a winter of ice fishing fun. Our 2008 record fish was 17" long.
We hold fishing derbies throughout the year so be sure to check our events page for the dates.
Ducky fishing licenses can be purchased at the office. Weekend license - Adults $10; kids under 12 when purchased with adult license $5. Season license - Adults $20; kids under 12 when purchased with adult license $10.
Starting in late summer early fall you will be able to keep the fish you catch for only 20cents per inch.
We will also have cleaned, ready for the pan fish available at our concession for $4.00/pound. Try our smoked trout for something a little different.
At Rubber Ducky we now have a trout farm area where we raise rainbow trout ready for stocking in your pond. These fish average 6-10" and will quickly grow to over 12". They can be purchased for $1.50-$1.75 depending on the size and delivery can be arranged. When stocking fish of this size you are able to start fishing almost immediately after their release. If you stock them this fall they will grow over the winter and be ready for fishing in the spring. Their larger size also makes them less susceptible to loss due to predator birds like cormorants. We do also have access to fingerlings if you would like to start off smaller.
If you need assistance with any aeration or water quality issues please contact us and we will do what we can to help you out.
Waterfowl hunting
Our resort is located in some of the best duck and goose hunting areas in Manitoba and possibly even Canada. Our waterfowl hunting season runs from approx early September to November (non resident season begins the 3rd week in September). The Interlake region is world renowned for its duck and goose hunting offering the chance for a trip of a lifetime. Hunters in the area will quite often limit out on ducks and geese including some big Canada geese. There are many opportunities for freelance duck and Canada goose hunting in our area and we would be happy to help you contact local landowners to line up the fields.
We are located approximately 20 minutes from the Oak Hammock Marsh and their award winning Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre is located on the edge of the marsh. During migration season, the number of waterfowl using the marsh during migration can exceed 400,000 daily! We are also only 10 minutes from Stonewall.
We offer packages varying from accommodation only up to all inclusive deals (meals and accommodations provided). Your lodging choices include our motel style B&B rooms, camping cabin or an rv campsite. After the hunt come back to the resort and spend the evening relaxing in our outdoor hot tub.
Trained hunting dogs are welcome at our resort. We have an area for bird cleaning and offer freezing facilities if needed.

We have been fortunate to have some big names in the hunting world stay at our resort in the past including Charles Snapp and Rod Haydel with Waterfowler TV and Jimbo Ronquest and John Stephens from RNT calls.
